When it comes to weddings, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Simple. Sophisticated. Elegant.
When I think about the photographer for my wedding, the phrase “hindsight is 20/20” comes to mind. On all fronts, I missed the mark in selecting the right photographer, and as a result, I had lackluster photos.
Think about it: this person is chronicling the most important day of your life; shouldn’t you approach selecting a wedding photographer with a sense of purpose?
Well, I didn’t because I didn’t understand just HOW important of a decision it was. I assumed he understood what I wanted. So, when I asked for casual, unstaged photos of the wedding, I got groups shots of the back of the guest’s heads. My wedding photos felt literal when what I really wanted was imaginative and artistic.

So when Liza and I met Ashley Hylbert through our favorite eyebrow girl, Shelia Curtis, we knew she had the mojo going on. Just take a look at some of her outtakes from our Style Blueprint portrait shoot. Not only did we have a blast, we loved the photos. It was an experience.

I love Ashley Hylbert! Thank you for sharing her brilliant work. She has been taking our family portraits ever since my youngest was born. Her oversized black and whites hanging in our den always get commented on! I have been giving out her name for over 6 years. And now she does weddings!!?? There is no need to look any further for any of your photographic needs.
I totally agree about choosing the right wedding photographer. Mine were so bad, I didn’t even order a book. I just have a box full of disappointing proofs. Part of this was lack of selection in Jackson, MS at the time, and the fact that the best one in town at the time was already doing another wedding at the same time. Soooo, that is one thing I wish I could do again….that and go back and eat more fried oysters.
Also, Ashley is awesome. She has taken pics of my kids which I love. So glad to know that she’s doing weddings now too. I may have to renew my vows or something so she can take some new ones of Bob and I!
Having known Ashley prior to my wedding was a huge relief as I didn’t feel the need to go searching for a wedding photographer. Ashley went far above and beyond my expectations by providing the perfect balance of professionalism and calming support while I was getting ready. By the time we left for the ceremony I wasn’t nervous at all. She was able to capture real personalities of myself and further husband as well as our guests. So many of our guests commented on how much fun they had getting photographed in the “prom room”. Our photos were ready to view on line so quickly and the most difficult part was picking the one’s we loved…..as they were all so good – so much different from your standard cookie cutter wedding photos. Even at my age, I still get giddy about sharing our wedding photos with friends and family.

We couldn’t have been more in love with the pictures Ashley and Brydget took! Since we didn’t have a videographer, it was very important to us that the photographers we hired captured both the events and spirit of our wedding. Put simply, our pictures are priceless.

Tutta Bella did my wedding in July 2009 and we are OBSESSED with our pictures. We loved having the flexibility of two photographers, so nothing got missed. Our photo book is on our coffee table and everyone that comes over looks through it and is amazed at how gorgeous everything is. Brydget has done many family photos for us in the past and the combination of Ashley and Brydget is wonderful. I cannot say enough great things about them and their gorgeous pictures!
As I sit in my family room right now, I can look around me and see Ashley’s amazing work all over the walls. She’s been taking pictures for me and my family for years now. What I absolutely LOVE about her style is how “real” her pictures look- no corny posed stuff. What I absolutely ADORE about all of the beautiful pictures that adorn my walls (and all of the grandparents’ walls, too!) is how candid they are- a great black and white of my kids laughing hysterically outside in my front yard, a photo of our family where my husband is holding my son upside down and we’re all laughing, a great one of my kids sitting on our stone steps hugging each other and laughing. I’ve seen Tutta Bella photos and been so envious. My weddings pics were of the standard, super posed variety. Dull, and boring!!! Tutta Bella’s wedding photography, like the family photos, truly capture the moment in a real and genuine way. They make me want to get married again so that I could have some wedding photos that I’d actually want to buy, blow up, and frame. Top notch, beautiful, and artistic!
As Mother of the Bride I can’t tell you what a relief it was to have Ashley and Brydget handle my daughter’s wedding photos this past September. Not only were the photos fabulous they truly made the whole experience very relaxing and enjoyable. It was great having them as a part of the wedding team. In addition, I have some wonderful black and white photos that Ashley took of my grandsons a few years back and they are among my favorites. She has a real knack for getting what appears to be very spontaneous poses.
I was the lucky one that got a session with Ashley through Style Blueprint’s giveaway a few months ago… Thank you Liza, Elizabeth and Ashley! It was the BEST present I have ever gotten!!! I did not have one good picture of my three kids (and my oldest in turning 9) and after Ashley was done with us I could not decide which picture was my favorite because they were all amazing! I even went out to get several new picture frames so I could do a wall just of my new pictures. She made us all feel super comfortable and she did a great job managing my kids – which is no easy task. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to have beautiful memories of their special day or of their loved ones. I would love to have her take my family’s pictures in the future.

Ashely Hylbert creates beautiful photos and is amazing to work with. I was not able to use her for my wedding, but I frequently hire her for commercial work including TV shoots and head shots.
