I have no doubt the party will be incredible and the weather will hold out so we can enjoy the gardens.. I noticed Debbie's house in either Nashville magazine or perhaps Nashville Arts magazine.. either way, it is gorgeous.. can't wait. eliz

As part of the Patron Party Committee, I thank you for these great suggestions!

Our thinking in describing the event as a "Patron's Garden Party" with "Garden Cocktail Attire" was that we wanted folks to know it will be mostly outside in Debbie's gorgeous garden but that it will be comfortable but nice--very nice with outdoor chic sensibilities. The neighbors deserve no less and Debbie's house/garden lends itself easily to it. If we have rain, we will be protected under a tent.

And it is not to say we won't filter in and through Debbie's lovely home--we will! But, the eating and mingling will primarily be out-of-doors.

Knowing that late September's weather can range from hot to cool, we wanted folks to feel appropriately prepared. Also, regardless of the weather, there is a certain casual but stylish attitude we thought "Garden Cocktail" would connote.

I'm glad there is a "buzz" about what exactly all this business is about anyway. Attention is good either way, and we hope the entire neighborhood feels free to dress as they wish and join the fun. There will be great fellowship, fabulous food, art and beauty to enjoy as we kick off to the Home Tour and show gratitude toward our neighbors.

A last note--I am a huge fan and customer of UAL and I agree that Holly is the bomb! I just have to make time this week to get there and get outfitted. Why miss a great opportunity to own a great "Garden Cocktail" outfit?
