Travel for Work? Here are 6 Atlanta Hotels That Make Work Feel Like Play
Headed to Atlanta for a business trip? Here are six Atlanta hotels perfect for making work feel like play!
Atlanta is one of those cities that everyone finds themselves in at one time or another. Often, itβs just a quick layover at the airport. Other times, itβs for several days of business meetings and conference happenings. And navigating a slew of hotels, where several are probably listed at the corner of Peachtree and Peachtree, can be intimidating and downright confusing.
Frankly, weβre looking for a place to work, relax and hopefully rack-up some travel reward points, too. Good news! Several Atlanta hotels tick each of those boxes. The guide below outlines six of the best hotels for traveling businesswomen in Atlanta. Weβre breaking down the neighborhoods and perks to take the guesswork out of it all.
For the Power Lunch
Loews Atlanta Hotel
Neighborhood: Midtown
1065 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309 β’ (404) 745-5000
Reward Program: Loews Rewards
Loews Atlanta sits in the heart of Midtown surrounded by restaurants, parks and other city perks. After undergoing a $13 million renovation, the hotel is now one of the freshest in town. It boasts 414 guestrooms and 44 suites, which allow guests the personal space needed after a long day of work. Not to mention the stellar views, which include Piedmont Park, The Federal Reserve Building and even Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Of course, the hotel offers more than just ample space and stunning views.
Perhaps our favorite perks of Loews Atlanta are the unique dining experiences. Saltwood Charcuterie & Bar serves breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner, but if youβre going to settle on just one meal at the hotel, make it a weekday lunch. Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., guests at the Saltwood are privy to the best gourmet salad bar in the city. Pick up a large mixing bowl, add your greens and make your way through the line as you fill your bowl to the brim with toppings and proteins. In addition to your salad, youβll be treated to a choice of dinner roll and a rotating selection of dessert. Even better? This healthy power lunch is less than $15! If time allows after lunch, head to Exhale on the 7th floor. There, you can sign up for a workout class, such as barre or cycle, or simply use your time to relax with a spa treatment.

For the Ultimate Luxury
W Atlanta β Midtown
Neighborhood: Midtown
188 14th St NE, Atlanta, GA 30361 β’ (404) 892-6000
Reward Program: Marriott
W Hotels are well-known for their luxe interiors and comfortable beds, and a stay at W Atlanta β Midtown will have you turning down its competitors and laying your head in its linens time and time again. The hotel underwent a massive renovation in 2019, and from its stark ashes, a forbidden garden motif bloomed. In fact, the Living Room (more commonly known as the hotelβs bar and restaurant) features larger-than-life blossoms on its ceilings. Flowers and other garden notions are incorporated into nearly every part of the hotel experience. Orchids flourish throughout the property and are even used to garnish plates. The Spa, the Wβs terrace level relaxation center, carries the botanic theme throughout its spaces as well. Besides being an absolutely beautiful space, W Atlanta β Midtown offers everything a worldly woman could want. There are nooks and crannies for seeking peace and quiet (our favorite is the Hidden Lounge). Thereβs a rooftop pool for catching rays. There are also nightly events to keep you entertained when you just donβt want to lay in your room. Donβt miss Drag Queen Bingo every Thursday night hosted by local starlette Brigitte Bidet.

For the Convenience
AC Hotel Atlanta Buckhead
Neighborhood: Buckhead
3600 Wieuca Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30326Β β’ (470) 231-3030
Reward Program: Marriott
This hotel is walking distance to one of Atlantaβs most illustrious shopping areas. Need we say more? Probably not, but weβll give you a few more details just in case. The AC Hotel Atlanta Buckhead is a 166-room hotel adjacent to Phipps Plaza, making it an ideal choice for those of us looking to work and play in the Buckhead area. While this hotel is slightly older than the others on our list (it opened about four years ago), you canβt beat its convenience. Drop your bags and take the walking path straight to Nordstrom. Once in the mall, youβll find ample upscale shopping, an AMC movie theater, various restaurants and even a Starbucks. Once youβve sufficiently shopped, head back to the hotel, but be sure to stop at Ecco along the way (it shares a driveway with the hotel). Ecco specializes in European-inspired small plates, so we recommend enjoying a balanced meal of goat cheese fritters paired with a baby beet salad or an entrΓ©e of seared scallops.

For the Downtown Access
The Candler Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton
Neighborhood: Downtown
127 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30303 β’ (404) 523-1200
Reward Program: HiltonΒ
While The Candler Hotel, Curio Collection by HiltonΒ is one of the cityβs newest kids on the block, it also happens to be housed in one of the most historic buildings in town. Once home to Coca-Cola, the office building-turned-hotel housed law offices until 2015. However, a serious renovation turned various offices into 265 uniquely sized rooms. Regardless of what room you find yourself in, you are guaranteed stylish surroundings. The rooms (designed by Nicole Hollis) feel contemporary yet appropriately historic, and nearly every room has city views of some sort. In fact, some even offer views straight down of the famous Peachtree Street.
The Candlerβs historic interiors are also stunning. Walking in the front door, youβre greeted by a stately marble staircase and a crystal chandelier flanked by two Tiffany windows. Brass finishes and velvet fabrics bring warmth to an otherwise cool space, and no detail is left unturned. The hotel restaurant, By George, is part of the Hugh Acheson restaurant family and features French-inspired dishes. Should you find yourself needing to attend AmericasMart, this is the hotel for you. Building 2 is a quick 8-minute walk from the hotelβs front steps.

For the Boutique Experience
The Burgess Hotel
Neighborhood: Buckhead
3600 Piedmont Rd NE, Atlanta, GA, 30305 β’ (404) 869-1100
Reward Program: WyndhamΒ
Opened in December 2019, The Burgess Hotel is the newest one on our list. This Trademark Collection by Wyndham hotel is a mid-priced beauty with high-end appeal. Think Veuve tastes on a Budweiser budget. The Burgess Hotel immerses visitors in a worldly experience. Each of the 102 guest rooms is spacious and thoughtfully arranged. A banquet paired with a marble-topped tulip table serves as a spot to watch television, enjoy a meal from the restaurant downstairs, finish the dayβs work β¦ or better yet, all three at once! Should you decide to splurge on a suite instead, there are seven globally themed options to choose from, ranging from the London Hip Suite to the Arabian Nights Suite. Should you want even more opulence, select the South African Safari Penthouse on the 5th floor.
The lobby boasts four communal spaces, including two restaurants. Behind the check-in desk, a large wooden table with discrete outlets encourages co-working. Nearby, a library filled with books and conversation corners is warmed by a large fireplace. Mr. B Bar offers creative cocktails and small plates while Fia, the hotelβs restaurant, wows guests with dishes from its exposed woodfire grill.

For the Workweek Turned Weekend
Hotel Clermont
Neighborhood: Poncey-Highland
789 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA, 30306 β’ (470) 485-0485
Reward Program: None
If youβre coming to Atlanta for work and have a little extra time to spare, stay a few extra days, make a weekend out of it and book Hotel Clermont. Walking into the hotel is like taking a step back in time. Retro, Palm Beach-chic finishings greet guests from the moment they arrive. Check-in at the front desk, where youβll be awarded a Pabst beer as a nod to Atlantaβs oldest strip club (located in the hotelβs basement). Rooms vary from traditional king and queens to ones outfitted with bunk beds for the most minimalist of travelers (this is also an ideal girlsβ getaway option!). The hotelβs rooftop bar, in-house cafΓ© and terrace-level brasserie allow you to check-in, take in the sights and sounds of the neighborhood, dine and even get some βuniqueβ entertainment without ever leaving the property. However, a quick walk down Ponce de Leon Avenue leads you right to easy shopping and even more restaurants at Ponce City Market.

Hereβs to hip travel and tasteful accommodations!
