I can’t imagine a better home to showcase this weekend’s fabulous trunk show than 2204 Golf Club Lane. If you happen to be on the market, or know someone who is, this house has always been one of my favorites in all of Nashville. You can’t beat the curb appeal, the tony address, or the instant friends the neighbors here will be. (Since I know most of the neighbors here, I’m confident in saying this.) Now, before Elizabeth talks about the trunk show with all the details you’ll need at the end of this post, let me tell you about this vintage home, as it is one of the “good ones” on the market today.

2204 Golf Club. See why I think this one is so good?

Like the antiques and jewelry – amongst other things – that will be at the trunk show, this house has history and stories as well. It was built in 1932 in a neighborhood that has become arguably the most coveted in Green Hills: Golf Club/ Hampton, known for impressive homes, large lots and enviable convenience. Throughout the day on Golf Club, you will find joggers, bikers and moms behind baby strollers pounding the pavement of this wide flat road. Last December, Hampton and Golf Club started a tradition of lining their streets on the Sunday before Christmas with luminaries. It’s one of those neighborhoods… you know, where the neighbors actually know each other and talk! 2204 Golf Club is situated on a 4 way stop, which ensures slow speeds. I’ve been at that 4 way stop many times looking over at this house as it just oozes warmth.

The floor plan of this house works well for a family with children of any age; I know because I just toured the house. The fresh paint job was evident and the new appliances added a few days ago (with a new cook top on the way!) make the kitchen pop. Considering the age of the house, the fact that the kitchen is open to the family room is remarkable. AND- there is another separate den, living room and sun porch. The dining room was just painted the same color as my family room – a burnt gold. Mine is called York Ivory from Porter Paints and I’ll bet ya money it is the same color that now graces these walls. If you need a deep yellow, take note of this one as in my humble opinion, I think it’s perfect. My kids were content to play basketball in the backyard – which is completely fenced in – and climb and swing on the playset. The trees in the yard may actually be older than the house. They are gorgeous. The fact that this house is still on the market plainly shows our weak housing market. As I am contemplating putting our house on the market, I hate to see that one this fetching hasn’t sold!

This is the dining room that has recently been painted what I think is York Ivory - otherwise known as the perfect deep "burnt" yellow. Go by and take a look during the trunk sale to see if you love the new color as much as I do.

As of Tuesday, April 20th, this house has just been reduced to $999,999. There is plenty of room to add a garage and I love the fact that it would connect to an area, near the HUGE laundry room, that could naturally become a mudroom/cubby area to throw backpacks – or just all the STUFF that we all seem to walk into our homes with. Oh, and get this: the house was pre-inspected and the owners already took care of the check list. Nice. To see the link to this house, click here. Once again, Kippy Leland and Maggie Troutman have assembled a group of impressive vendors for this weekend’s show. StyleBlueprint wrote about their Big House show last December, and their newest addition, portrait artist, Ann Cowden. This show will prove to be bigger and better than the last one. Included in this weekend’s mix are clay botanicals by Jimy Nichols, antiques by Lane Easterly and vintage jewelry by Betsy Hindman. It needs to be noted that Betsy Hindman has expanded her company, Plum Vintage Charms, to include a new line of exquisite vintage jewelry.

Her new company name is Plum Vintage Jewelry and Liza and I are drooling over her new finds. We both adore the Cleopatra snake bracelet and I convinced Betsy my arm would be a great advertisement for her rhinestone cuff.

She graciously granted me permission to wear the crown jewels to a black tie event last weekend; the dazzling cuff received rave reviews.
