There are a few houses in Nashville that instantly inspire me the moment I walk through the front door. Ann Spalding’s house is one of these homes. In Ann’s past career as an accessorizer for many designers in town, she was often called on to help with final details. She also maintained her own list of design clients. Now, however, Ann is half the duo behind one of StyleBlueprint’s favorite jewelry lines, GoodmanSpalding. As busy as she is with her new venture, she continues to help out clients, especially with holiday decor. (Sorry, she’s not taking any new clients.) When it comes to her own home, she takes a simple approach, adding just a little here and there. I like a simple approach and was thrilled that Ann let me capture some pictures to share today.
Ann says she always likes to work with what clients already have. She encourages you to get out your silver and glass bowls, your crystal and your place settings. Think of creative ways to decorate by filling up a bowl with cranberries or pine needles. Candles add big punch and can be used year round. And, remember, ornaments do not have to be hung on your tree – incorporate them into your holiday mantles and table displays.
Be sure to check out GoodmanSpalding in town at Spruce, Caldwell Collection, The Perfect Pair and Coco.
Thanks, Ann! (note, the front door wreath and mailbox were done by Stacey Perry from Down To The Wire)
