Today, we welcome Dana Nappi as our guest writer. Dana and her husband Phillip own Peter Nappi shoes, and we have been fans of their style since the moment they opened their studio in Nashville. Their store is filled with impeccable, custom-made shoes, as well as amazing antiques. It is a must-go spot for Nashville shoppers and tourists alike. A recent feature in Garden & Gun magazine, featuring taste makers of the South, perfectly showed off their great aesthetic. We are thrilled to share the lowdown from their most recent shopping trip to the Brimfield Antique Show, one of the largest, and definitely most prominent, antique shows in the country,

Brimfield Antique Show takes place three times a year and although most of the shoppers are “professionals” (re-sellers, retail outfitters, etc.), it is open to the public. With over 6,000 dealers spread over 21 fields, it’s a pretty daunting task to cover it all. I’ve done my best to sum it all up for those who haven’t been.

As an aside, I’m so honored to share this recent trip to Brimfield with StyleBlueprint today! I have to admit, though, it can be pretty intimidating working with such stylish and classy ladies. I hope this measures up to their standard…and yours! As a consistent SB reader myself, I know you all expect the best!

So, with that thought, I’ll start with the best! Really, the cream of the crop. For the past 10 years, Doug & Corina Jenkins, husband and wife team behind Eneby Antik (www.enebyantik.com) have spent summers in Sweden buying beautiful pieces. Based in Atlanta and partners with BoBo Vintage (BoBoIntriguing Objects.com), they also show at Scotts in Atlanta.

Just one of the 10 “rooms” Doug & Corina had set up in their 100’x40’ tent. I spent half my time looking at all their amazing pieces.
4
Wouldn’t this make a perfect entertainment center? We have something similar at home and keep all our arts & crafts in the drawers. Found in my favorite tent, Eneby Antik, from Atlanta.

Beautiful Swedish day bed. And those maps add just the right amount of color. Eneby Antik, from Atlanta.
The problem with “new” chairs these days is the arm rests often take up more room the then seat. Kind of a waste of space. You don’t have to be big to make a statement. These guys are perfect examples.

We fell in love with this blonde leather sofa and brought it home. Available at the Peter Nappi Studio in Nashville, unless we decide to take to our house…
10
We picked these up, too. They will add just the right amount of femininity to an otherwise manly room.
11
Across the aisle I met Dave Lennard (www.davelennard.com). He crafts beautiful zinc-top tables, interesting paintings and one of a kind creations.
12
Dave mixes old and new seamlessly.
13
Dave refinishes and repurposes with incredible talent.
14
He carries incredible home accessories. This is a one stop shop!
15
Of course it rained.
16
It always rains at Brimfield.
17
Had to include this shot. I spotted this lone dog and had to go back and check it out. So many options to add to a beautiful garden.
18
In the rain, I stumbled across this bathtub.

Yes, it’s wood and zinc.

Which led me to Bruce. (www.totallyBruce.net – showroom in Brooklyn)

Incredible wooden pieces…
22
And repurposed materials…
23
And lighting.
24
So many lights to choose from! I’ve noticed that most fixtures these days really emphasize the bulb. LightBulbDepot carries every bulb on earth and has locations in 14 cities, including Nashville and Atlanta, and an online store. Plus they let you take however long you need (in my case hours) to find just what you’re looking for.

I thought this clothing rack was great. I found a miniature one & used it in my 4 year old’s bedroom for all her princess dresses. Which reminds me…

26
Brimfield also offers incredible vintage clothing.
27
Here are a few pieces we put together. Gotta love vintage leather jackets!!
28
And finally, there’s no better way to wrap up a tough day in the field than enjoying a great meal with friends! And this little town had some great options. Cedar Street Grille was one of our favorites. If you go, get the “Crispi Pig.” Trust me. Life changing.

Hope to see you there next year!

Thanks, Dana!
