A Tour of GasLamp, Too!

For those of you who have fond memories of White Way Antique Mall, this post may resonate with you. I have been searching for a replacement for this treasured store since they closed their doors ten years ago. If you never walked through their doors, let me try to paint the picture for you. White Way Antique Mall, under the watchful eye of Carol Elam, was nestled in the back of what now houses Dulce Desserts and Edgehill Cafe. It was an odd collection of eclectic antiques dealers, who collectively had an eye for the unusual, the fabulous, the sublime. The place was incredible! Seriously, I never walked out of White Way without something extraordinary under my arm or better yet, something fabulous loaded in the back of my car.

So when I heard the buzz about the GasLamp, Too, I zoomed right over. Unlike its older sister, the GasLamp Antiques, this annex is much more navigable. It’s just down the road from the big girl and is about half its size with much more charm. If you’ve never been, I thought it would be fun to take a quick tour of what’s inside.

This corner cabinet is circa 1810 and made of walnut with gorgeous inlaid designs. It is pricey (or not) at $3200.

If you miss popping by the Caldwell Collection, it is now located in the GasLamp, Too. These pearl bracelets are from Kelly Joseph.

What a find! This tiger and birds-eye maple 19th century chest is only $535.

How can I use this? Let me count the ways… So versatile as an outside bench or perhaps, as a sunroom bench to hold magazines.

It’s really hard to find old leather chairs in good condition. This one is pristine with no visible wear and tear. It is not cheap at $1750, but so gorgeous.

I could see this in a kitchen as a wonderful focal point. Just reduced at $429.95, this is from Paris.

There’s nothing better than a collection. This camera would be the perfect start of one, or just an interesting object in your bookcase.

I didn’t check to see if the sink is for sale, but GasLamp, Too has wonderful hostess gifts like these fragrant soaps and guest towels.
