I grew up with Nordstrom so I was not quiet about my glee when the one in Nashville opened last year. With the Nashville and Atlanta stores having their own individual vibe, they are each proving to be destinations for local residents and out-of-towners alike. And, NOW may prove the best time to open up a Nordstrom account and shop online or at the store. Why? Because it’s that hap-happiest time of the year…. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
No, this is not an end-of-season sale. This is a PRE-season sale, as in Fall 2012. Leather jackets, plum suede pumps, plaid blouses, wool coats, designer bags… and they are all seriously marked down.
Tina Adams, a local stylist, had this bag picked out as having a great higher-end look without the price tag. Sale: $191.90 After Sale: $288. I ended up buying it in green, which is outside my neutral safe zone. But, it should make a great pop of color for fall.
I did not have a Nordstrom account, but with the sale open exclusively to account holders at this point (until July 20th when it opens to the public) I can now say I have one… and several new items in my closet. The deals were just too good and I simply couldn’t wait until July 20th. I mean, I was there the moment the sale opened and by the time I left there were several items that were sold out. I scored 2 sweaters, a scarf and a handbag at the Nashville store.
Now, I’m searching the sale online (just like the physical locations, the sale online is only open to account holders until July 20th) wondering if I need to order some shoes and a pair of jeans… and possibly a dress as well. And, oh, perhaps some workout wear, cosmetics and jewelry. Oh, the mindset of a woman faced with a serious sale. And, not sale items that have been picked over. These are Fall 2012′s best, available NOW at 30-35% off.
I met up with Tina Adams of Tina Adams Wardrobe Consulting. She was there bright and early pulling items for her clients, who arrived to already stocked dressing rooms filled with their sizes and Tina’s best picks for their body shape and lifestyle. Lucky gals.

Tina’s clients and I were drooling over this Chloe bag. This bag was on sale for $1300, down from $1995, but it sold out the first day of the sale!
Tina spotted these Sam Edelman shoes that are a deal at full price. But, they are a steal now. Sale: $79.90 After Sale: $119.95
We were all amazed at the great price of this pair of stylish Hinge shoes. Sale: $59.90 After Sale: $89.95

This Rachel Roy skirt is flattering and easy to pair with many tops.
For a less expensive option than the Rachel Roy skirt, this one from Nordstrom’s brand, Halogen, has a similar black slimming feature on the sides as well as Fall 2012′s IT color: plum.
The color gold, as in metallic gold, is HUGE for Fall 2012. Here is a Hinge piece at a great price.
This striped chevron skirt looks as if it would be insanely flattering on many and it’s only $45.90! By Halogen, Nordstrom’s house brand.

I am wishing that I hadn’t read this post!
Nashville has wowed Nordstrom again. Nordstrom-Nashville reported they moved 3 times the merchandise they expected to on the first day of the sale. I’m sure our clients were responsible for a lot of that! It’s truly a great value for Fall pieces!
