There are few times in life when love is actually palpable; a wedding is one of these times. A few tears were shed this past July as I witnessed my cousin, Parrish, marry her guy Jonathan during their beautiful mountain wedding at The Laurel Ridge Country Club in Waynesville, NC. I may be biased, but they make the most adorable couple.
I was simply overwhelmed by the beauty of this wedding. Not only did Parrish and Johnathan get married at my favorite place on this earth, the mountains of North Carolina, but the choices made from the dress, to the colors, to the seersucker suit worn by the groom, to the gorgeous flowers had me knowing instantly that I needed to share this stylish, and very Southern, wedding with you.
Things to note: the wedding photographer is Amber Holritz. She is based in Chattanooga, but was contracted for this wedding through Asheville’s Corey McNabb. The wedding planner, and I think you’ll agree it was excellently planned, was Melissa Porter with Asheville Event Company.
Enjoy!

I love this picture as this is how I think of Parrish: happy all the time. Her gorgeous dress is Vera Wang. I also love that she didn't distract with a necklace and how about that big ring? LOVE it!

Here's Parrish on her way to the ceremony. Her sister, Ashley, is right next to her and her mom, Cheryl, is behind on Parrish's right.
For this 5:30 PM July wedding, Johnathan wore a seersucker suit, while the groomsmen wore seersucker pants and a blue blazer. The boutonnieres were perfect.
2 of my cousin’s Ashley’s boys were in the wedding. I love to see children involved in a wedding!
A high 5 for the happy couple:

Notice the beautiful room in which they were married. It may not be a church, but the Cathedral is there in the ceiling!
I simply gushed over the wedding flowers, here is why:

I love how each table had a display of different yellow flowers. The uniting factor was the color, not the kind. I even saw yellow cala lillies. I'm also a huge fan of rectangular clear glass vases.
The yellow and blue colors were carried into the wedding candies and cake as well:
I could go on and on with pictures of the fun reception, the incredible band and the proud parents. But, I’ll just pick a few favorites of the happy couple:
And one more thing, Parrish and Jonathan – I have your wedding present and I promise to send it soon!

Absolutely stunning. What a gorgeous wedding. I love how the wedding fit right into the setting.
Liza,
What a great recap of Parrish and Jonathan’s wedding. It was a fun chance to see it through a different lense- yours! I can still smell the freshness of the amazing mountain location. I’m glad our families get this each year. Talk with you soon. -S
Seersucker.
Just divine!
Liza, you are not biased at ALL….that is one absolutely gorgeous bride….the details are stunning….the setting…the flowers…the cake…the venue….the photography…I could just go on and on…everything is just right….thank you for sharing this with us…what a treat. xoxo
Ok- when I hear YOU say that, Ms. Event Extraordinaire, I know that I am not biased:-)! It really knocked my socks off. Add a high of 80 degrees on a July day, the smell of the mountains, and it was really spectacular!

So perfect, I love everything.
Liza,
It seems to me you have already delivered one of the most precious wedding presents one could give. This report of yours is breath taking and the love is palpable. I must agree with you that Amber and Corey did a spectacular job but I must add that Cheryl was working on this 24/7 for about 6 months. She did such a great job on the morning of the wedding she was at complete peace with out a worry.

Liza: Thank you so much for the wonderful post! We just had the best time and could not have lucked out more with our vendors. I must give a little nod to our band, too…Atlanta Party Band. Honestly, they were AMAZING.
I know! They were SO GREAT! And I love the pictures of you all dancing! Oh my gosh, it was all so fun! And, I didn’t mention the food: the corn and shrimp were SO GOOD!
Anne and I were there. It was the best wedding week end ever. these are just great pictures.
I just love seeing weddings from my area. I live just over the mountain from Laurel Ridge Country Club. It’s a beautiful area for a mountain wedding. Thanks for sharing!
