Sometimes you see something so stunning that it stops you dead in your tracks. This is exactly what happened to me when I walked in H.Audrey and saw this necklace. Then I kept seeing it. It showed up ever so subtlety in the fashion issue of the local paper, again in a local magazine as if it was haunting me.
Last Friday I decided to go to H. Audrey once more and visit my necklace. As fate would have it, the necklace sold the day before. However, sitting serenely behind the counter was the necklace’s creator: Amanda Urrego a Columbian beauty. I was curious about her creative process and where she finds the gorgeous vintage pieces that define her necklaces’ exquisite presence. Predictably, she collects from flea markets and estate sales with her best finds coming from her friends’ grandmothers. She starts with one great piece and builds the necklace from there. No two are alike and most are priced from $500-$1000.
When one doubts Nashville’s sophistication in the world of design, take a stroll to H.Audrey in the Hill Center/Green Hills. . Amanda’s necklaces testify that Nashville is way too cool.
