I’ve been wanting to try out some Kasil Denim and I think 70% off may just be the best way, don’t you agree? I’ve also been a huge fan of Lather lip balm, and at 70% off, it’s suddenly the same price as actual Chapstick. Where is this discount mecca of which I write? Well, this shop named MODE out of North Dakota (of all places!) is bringing a large supply of their designer items to sell for one day only: July 21st and the sale starts promptly at 10AM. The sale will take place at the Essex Retail Outlet.
Hold on a minute. WHERE? The Essex Retail Outlet?
Did you hear the record of my blissful music playing in my mind just skip and scratch? Essex? OK. I admit that I’ve really never been tempted to walk into this store as the pictures on their website are pretty much the exact opposite of what I tend to gravitate toward and I’m not that into gadgets. Really, all I had to see was the Catnapper recliner, “America’s most comfortable chair” (do you think it’s France’s most comfortable chair as well? Perhaps Mexico’s?), on special this week to convince me that me and this store don’t mix.
But, we all know that surprises exist and this store has tons of TN locations, so perhaps I will be happily surprised and quickly reprimanding my snotty anti-Essex thoughts. Let’s hope. But, I do know that with brands like Kasil, Lather, Lucy B Cosmetics, and MZ Wallace handbags, hauled in from North Dakota, there will be plenty there to tempt me.
Let’s talk about exact prices to expect. I just got off the phone with Ciara, the owner of MODE who is partnering with Essex for this sale. She has had several of these sales and they are always very successful and it’s because the merchandise is unused and first quality but the prices are truly at liquidation level.
- Kasil Denim: $218 retail and JUST $40! In fact all denim for men, women and kids will be designer and all $40.
- Australia LUXE boots, women and kids: $245 retail at $89.
- Designer Handbags: $375+ retail for $52.99 – $72.99
- Elizabeth Cotton luxury robes and PJ sets: listed on Oprah’s O list, retail $189+, just $40
- Lots of organic towels, sheet sets and bedding.
- Lots of high-end housewares.
OK, I’m convinced. Perhaps my snobby anti-Essex days are over….
What I do know is this TN/North Dakota partnership is a brilliant move by Essex to bring similarly inclined women as myself to their store. Ok, Essex in Franklin, it’s showtime. July 21, 10AM. I’m there. Don’t disappoint. And please don’t disappoint our readers. But, with $218 jeans for $40, I don’t think you will.
Essex Retail is in the Williamson Square shopping center.
Happy Shopping!

Should be a great sale….just heard about it also. Thanks for more details!
Question about the Kasil jeans! Do they come in size 12 or 14? My skinny jeans days are WAY OVER!!
Thanks! I really do enjoy your newsletter!
They run size 25-32 (00-12) I think the 32 may work if you are 12/14 as I THINK it runs like a large 12!
