I have all these little bits and pieces to write about, but they never seem to make it into a post. So, this my bits and pieces post, full of tips and nods to people, places and products…lots of products…
StyleBlueprint has forged a partnership with Her Nashville. Starting in July, look for us to answer style questions on their blog a couple times a week and in August, look for StyleBlueprint in their print edition. Send us your questions on all the stuff we love to write about under the wide umbrella of style: fashion, home decor, travel, entertaining, kids, social graces… So, as you read through this post, think of some questions to send our way!
Moroccan Hair Products
Moroccan Hair Products: the ultimate bomb of hair products. Pricey. Frankly, I’m addicted but I console myself knowing that people are addicted to far pricier substances….This product smooths and hydrates hair to leave a healthy mane in its wake. Available at salons. $36.
Taco Mamacits
The Vegetarian Caribbean soft taco – special ordered on a soft corn tortilla – at Taco Mamacitas is a current obsession. Yum.
Mekong Blue
Mekong Blue got some celebrity love at The Kentucky Derby! See this picture of Sandra Denton (Pepa) from pop-rap duo Salt N Pepa admiring a Mekong Blue scarf. This company’s focus on improving the lives of families in Cambodia continues to have us impressed, so check them out online!
Therapy Systems
Am I the only one is Nashville that didn’t know Therapy Systems was a local company? This is a great product for anyone looking for a new skincare line and you get to support local! Sold at Cosmetic Market and Private Edition.
Snap Kids
Snap Kids continues to bowl me over with their cute clothes for Tween’s. My oldest daughter will start blogging for them soon so I’m going to know a lot more about this store from now on. But, know this: Leah Bentley, owner, picks out great clothes and has headbands, watches and bracelets all in that magical $15 – $20 price range that makes a perfect birthday gift. They also have camp tees that take about two weeks to get back in once ordered.
Woo
I totally understand the obsession with online shopping. I have been trying to get to Woo for 2 weeks to get my Hydrating Eye Cream by Bobbi Brown. TWO WEEKS! Why is this so hard? Woo is convenient but my life is not. But, I want to support local shops. Woo, I will be in this week as I am now completely out. And yes, this under eye cream, which you apply before your concealer, is a complete gift to your eyes and has drastically changed – for the better – the way my concealer looks throughout the day.
Eating Healthy
And, I continue to wonder why, in the season of the most bountiful supply of vegetables that 1) I never could find any local asparagus this spring and 2) I find it harder to eat healthily in the summer. Why is this? Salt, alcohol, candy and the fryer are all knocking at my door each morning. Please go away!
Cheese Please
Speaking of food, the Goat Cheese Gouda at Whole Foods is amazing.
AmLactin
AmLactin lotion, available at Walgreens, is my hands down new favorite. It is pricier than the rest there, but I’ve never used anything that so thoroughly moisturized without reapplication throughout the day than this product. With some Alpha Hydroxy therapy thrown in, this lotion also helps to turn over fresh skin and my legs and arms simply LOVE IT! Click here for a $2 off coupon.
Yes To Carrots
Speaking of drug store products, I’ve been wearing Yes to Carrots mint lip butter non stop for about 6 weeks. It’s all I reach for. Sometimes I add the C Me Blush Lip Tint in Ready Red by the same brand. I highly recommend both. I’m wondering if I’ll ever return to lipstick or gloss again….I know my Lip Fusion will have me back one day, but it’s no time soon.

Great post! That Bobbi Brown eye cream is the best and Mizzie and I love Therapy Systems. The Energizing Enzyme Peel is fantastic and I've been wearing one of their lipstick shades for the past few months. It's incredibly moisturizing for an actual lipstick. Makeup artist, Lindsay White, has used Therapy Systems for years and she wrote a review of their product for us a few months ago.
