I bought this blouse at a trunk show here in town. I loved the trunk show, but the funny thing about the blouse was that it is not exclusive to the trunk show line as I found the exact same top, with a different tag sewn in, at Habit. I really did a double take and had to compare to confirm – yes, the same. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful to the aforementioned trunk show as I never would have tried on this top because it just kinda hangs there – nothing special – on the hanger. The magic happens when you put it on.
The brand is Alternative Apparel and the blouse comes in several different colors. I also noticed that Julia Roberts wore this top in Eat. Pray. Love. Hers was red and she wore it in the scene – SPOILER ALERT!- where she decides not to get on the boat with Javier Bardem. (What was she thinking???) So, what else could I do but get you a deal? Keep reading….

Notice the ribbing at the sides and undersides of arms. This makes the blouse fit in a more tailored fashion and not balloon out.
Habit usually has this top in stock in white, khaki and gray – and we have a SBP deal for you! Simply mention ‘StyleBlueprint’ when you are at Habit to purchase this top at 15% off through the end of September. Meg, the owner, has more on order so she can satisfy your desire for this top. And, desire it you should as it’s only $70 regularly – but, right now, it’s only $59.50! *Style tip: while fine in your normal size, some like this top one size up.

I got this exact shirt at Target for 19.00. Made by Converse. I got it 2 weeks ago so you might still be able to get it! I know you like to shop local but hey Target!
I am so not above Target! I will check out the converse tee there!
I bought this blouse last spring in Seaside, Fl. Mine is grey – I wore it yesterday. I love it. Washes and irons easily; comfortable AND fashionable. Think I will go online and order another color or two….
I think I’m buying a couple more too! -Liza
this is cute, BUT, you all obviously have not discovered Anne Fontaine white blouses….the absolute best! Each is a work of art!
Oh, I do know of Anne Fontaine and they are to-die for. But, for everyday throw in the washer and get great compliments, at this price point, I love the blouse in this post. BUT- Anne Fontaine blouses get me so crazy excited that I’ve even considered flying to Chicago for the day JUST to shop there for a post! Not sure many brands can create that desire as you are sooooo right that each really is a piece of art!!

I’m calling HABIT today before whisking out of town (the AA website has very limited sizes/colors) and can’t wait to return to my new shirts. Footnote: Please give spoiler alert….Keep in mind not everyone has caught EPL yet, some of us wait for Netflix on our own bigscreen ; )
SB is my GO-TO blog for everything Nashville! Thanks for doing the discovery – and sharing!
HA! I will add spoiler alert RIGHT NOW! Too funny. Btw, that’s not how it ends:-) You know it’s a happy chick flick and that all of us chick-o’s would be angry if it didn’t end up happy:-)
OK- I’ve received emails that since this went live last night that the Alternative Apparel website is quickly selling out of this top. If in Nashville, head to Habit as she has it in stock and some more on order. Also, google Alternative Apparel Jamie Button Down and there are some online retailers for online shoppers:-)

Wow, I feel so out of the loop without this shirt! That may be my Labor Day weekend task, to buy it….and yep, that ribbing on the side is going to create a wonderful shape!! Thanks for the info, Melinda
I’ve been buying the Target version for 6 months— already have it in 4 colors! It’s in the Converse One Star collection. And I’ve worn it at Carol Peretz Couture trunk shows and received compliments! The price varies between $19.99 and $22.99, depending in the version….
Just for information – I visitied Habit today and there are only 3 shirts left 2 Small in Caramel, 1 Large in Gray. The clerk did not know if they were going to be reordered.
I may go check out the Target version!
The owner is there on MWF. The Target one is OK, but not nearly as “drape-y” as this one and looks like it would collect lint. I also don’t like the buttons. But, as seen on these comments, my opinion may be in the minority! Check out Target!
I wanted to update my last posting. I spoke with Meg at Habit regarding the blouse and she is more than happy to special order this great blouse for you. Habit is a truly fantatic clothing store and Meg the owner goes out of her way for customer satisfaction.
