Exciting News…

We need to tell you all about a few things that have us really excited:

• Yes, it’s true. Elizabeth and I will be attending the Tennessean’s Toast Of Music City Awards this Thursday evening as StyleBlueprint is in contention for Best Blog!  We have no idea who will win, or what to wear, but we are just so happy to be up for this award with our friends at Nashvillest as well as Section303, the blog who made us all swell with joy during the Nashville Flood with the post We Are Nashville.  Now, truth be told, both these blogs did such an amazing job keeping us informed and spirited during The Flood that we kinda think “How can we win?”  So, 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, we consider StyleBlueprint a winner to be simply included in the top three with these other two amazing blogs.  Nashvillest has won for the past two years, so that’s where my betting money is, but the We Are Nashville post made me cry, so Section303 has my heart.  But of course, in the end …I would love StyleBlueprint to win!  We know how many of you voted for us each day and we thank you.  Our readers put us in this position and to you we are grateful.

• Secondly, we are in the midst of a MAJOR site overhaul.  MASSIVE.  You’ve heard us talk about this for the better part of the past year and we have FINALLY done it!  We are close…very close.  We hope to make the switch this weekend so please be kind to us over the next couple of weeks as this process may prove difficult.  But, the new site is so easy to navigate and it is just so dang pretty…we love it and we can’t wait to show you!  To give you a sneak peak, here is unveiling of our new logo:

• Thirdly, in case you missed it, our new monthly column for Her Nashville, Her Q’s, debuts in the August issue.  We have already starting blogging on the Her Nashville site each Tuesday and Thursday.  The column is a reader question generated format, so if you have a question about ANYTHING (ok, please not sex, I blush easily…) send us a question.  So far, we have answered questions on etiquette, style, fashion, home decor and beauty.  We can’t wait to see what questions come next.

Ashley Hylbert

The fabulous photographer Ashley Hylbert is taking lots of pictures for us through this partnership with Her Nashville, and with her talent and enviable eye, we are in good hands.  You will see some of Ashley’s work on the blog in the future and we’ll be sure to point it out.  She is even raising Elizabeth’s and my game, so we’re excited to focus more on taking great pictures for the blog as well.  Here are some pictures Ashley took of Elizabeth and me for the new site overhaul. (Ashley takes amazing pictures of families and weddings too…) Our makeup and hair was done by the eyebrow guru, and make artist extraordinaire, Shelia Curtis:

I wanted to remind you that we have an email plan, which sends you an email each Monday-Friday when a new post is published.  An email is waiting in your inbox each morning when you wake up.   If you email us to say you haven’t received it, 99% of the time it’s in your SPAM folder (I think Comcast is the worst offender here.).   We also send out dedicated emails to subscribers which are separate from the blog.  It may be a special offer or a fun list of things-to-do called SHOP. EAT. GO. that we try to send out each Wednesday or Thursday. But, only email subscribers get these.   You can sign up HERE or through the email sign up found on the right hand tool bar of the screen (No, it’s not there if you are reading this on your fancy phone….!)

On the StyleBlueprint facebook page, we list our posts as well as sales or events we find out about.   Sometimes we just point out something interesting that we found on another blog. Fans can also place updates on this wall about anything which falls under our wide style umbrella.  You can ask us questions on our FB page and we’ll try to get you a quick answer.  Our hope is for this page to be interactive and one which we, too, can find out about some cool stuff around Nashville, or anywhere for that matter.  To become a fan, see www.facebook.com/styleblueprint.
